Case Study About Coaching For Transformational Change

Coach Transformational Academy is your expert training program, in your journey to becoming the coach you are meant to be. In this program, you will experience a paradigm shift whilst on your path to exploring and learning. This training program teaches you how to build synergies, through partnering with one another. It works as the lighthouse to your path ahead.

Abstract of the Thesis

The program operates on two premises;

1. Psychological Safe Place — A setting where people feel free to express themselves authentically. This also ensures that they feel heard and safe.

2. Unconditional Positive Regard — Teaching how to listen without filling in the blanks and being truly non-judgmental.

A leadership position sometimes creates a mental barrier between the leader (in our case, the coach) and the client. It can sometimes feel as though you already know everything because you have past experiences and success stories. Nevertheless, this program challenges your core coaching values and beliefs. Instead of introducing the coaches based on their professional profiles, the program begins with the coaches’ expression of themselves. By participating in the program, the participants can connect to their authentic truth and experience the art of mental flexibility. We can experience the warmth of understanding without judgment or analysis when we offer a place for everyone to be safe. As a result of social media influences, I believe we judge a book by its cover rather than scratching the surface, stretching our limiting beliefs, and listening just to hear. At the CTA program, you’ll experience an Aha-moment or epiphany. This is merely the start of your journey toward becoming a coach. As the essence of the organization, CTA coaches value partnership with clients through powerful questioning. By adhering to these values, you will be able to build trust, confidence, and respect along the way, and explore yourself. No matter how great or small your knowledge or experience may be, curiosity involves being open to learning from other perspectives. The act of being open to learning and present at the moment is what I call mindfulness moment practice. Psychologically, unconditional positive regard resonates with most of us. Regardless of our experiences or perceptions, we all desire some sort of validation to be heard, understood, and not judged. Being judgmental comes from being unwilling to ask enough questions. By giving our full attention and letting go of our intention, we open the door to maximum growth and success.

Your motivation will surely be sparked by CTA’s dedication to excellence. The fundamental belief that every person is unique and not defined by their race, ethnicity, or culture, puts you in a warm and fuzzy state of self-love and healing. Further, people make the best decisions they can at the time they choose to make them. This is my favorite belief about excellence — that there is no failure, just feedback. It resonated deeply with me. Failure is not the opposite of success, rather it is a stepping stone. In the beginning, I referred to a paradigm shift. Here is why. In keeping with this philosophy of excellence, not only do we seek solutions for our clients, but we do so with the mindset that we are equipped to handle any upheaval or challenge we may face in our business or personal lives. I believe that there is a solution to each problem, so my new mantra is to believe in excellence. In the same way, the body feels what the mind thinks. The CTA’s coach Dr. Haris introduced the participants’ storytelling skills at the beginning of the training. Through thought, imagination, and memory, the participant was able to build a connection. The information we store in our minds based on the vibes and feelings we experience when we express our authentic truth is stored in our minds. As a wake-up call, hearing that what we recognize in others mirrored what we hold within mirrors what we recognize in ourselves. What we recognize in others is already within us. Likewise, we hold the same structure within ourselves as the errors we see in others. My final point is the one I felt from the depths of my heart; If someone can do it, anyone can. My eyes were fixed on the coaches as they spoke their truth and empowered us, and all I could think was that, if they had become what they were teaching, I could also achieve excellence.

Impactful Exercises

An old saying says that to be trusted, you have to be willing to trust. Thus, each participant fully trusts each coach’s designated task to help us learn, develop, and apply. That is the next component of this process. Participants in the Action-Learning-Applications have the opportunity to share their experiences of learning and how to apply this in their daily lives. It was a challenge for each participant to venture out of their comfort zone communicate with a stranger at the time, share a childhood memory that still resonates in their memory and has influenced their life. Furthermore, one life-changing experience contributed to the person that you are today. During the listening exercise, you were required to share your personal experience of what you learned about the person or teammate. Lastly, we spoke for two minutes as a method for building connections with each other. The participants felt like a tribe, a circle of friends, who were all members of the same group. The stories of perseverance, of shining brightly, of resilience, and of never giving up were heartwarming. In summary, I felt that it was time to reflect through the wisdom of others and establish this stimulus bond of interconnectedness, which I believe will have a beneficial impact.

Coaches stressed the importance of why you wish to become a coach. Among the most important principles was self-development, which is connected to self-transformation. Being patient while listening, empowering others, being of service, and connecting fully to heal are all aspects of aligning with the passion to listen. As coaches, we learned the art of pivoting, which is figuring out what works for our clients. My method may not work for you. Each of us has great potential. When we partner with clients, we can create together. Discovering what works best for our coaching clients by asking inquisitive questions.

Last but not least, coaches introduced the differences between training, mentoring, consulting, and coaching. In other words, acquiring knowledge does not necessarily mean learning. Skills are clusters of competence, and competence is nothing more than a certain level of proficiency.

Concluding the case

The process of learning never ends. Coaches who want to be exceptional must never stop learning, listen with their hearts open, not judge, and support unconditionally. Through CTA, that guide will help you on your journey to excellence. Don’t forget to create a safe environment and to show unconditional positive regard to everyone.
